Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks in a busy dental office. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in medical office procedures. The Dental Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and a positive patient experience.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing the dental clinic's calendar.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Asprodental.
- Verify insurance information and handle insurance claims processing, including Medicare and other third-party payers.
- Perform medical billing and coding tasks, ensuring compliance with CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 standards.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Handle patient inquiries via multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette.
- Assist with clerical duties including filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and data security.
- Provide support for care plans and coordinate with dental professionals as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and clinic operations is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in EHR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; typing proficiency is essential (10 key typing preferred).
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
