Role:
A Recovery Resolutions Agent works to achieve the Credit Union's mission and member promise statements by preserving the Credit Union's assets through financial counseling and coaching of members and implementation of loss mitigation strategies.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Make collection calls for mid-to-late stage delinquent (45-89 days) accounts. Contact delinquent borrowers and co-borrowers on a weekly basis to encourage prompt repayment of delinquent accounts.
Request and process past due payments via electronic payment platforms.
Confer with borrower/co-borrower to determine reason for overdue payment and review terms of loan contract.
Research member history and account activity to determine best course of action. Make suitable payment arrangements with members to bring accounts current in a timely manner.
Request letters from the AAACU attorney to proceed with collection activities and make next-step recommendations to Recovery Resolutions Specialists (ex: small claims, repossession, suit).
Credit bureau disputes; respond to credit bureau disputes and update as necessary via 3rd party system. Process mail in disputes with accuracy and within establish time frame per FCRA. Log disputes as they are completed.
Ensure all offset options have been utilized and search for associated joint accounts. Monitor and review past due accounts as it relates to suspending services, lines of credit, and credit card privileges.
Skip trace accounts and conduct investigations to locate missing borrowers/co-borrowers.
Maintain collection records and document all conversations and actions accurately in the collection database. Responsible for completing the monthly indirect dealer delinquency report as well as the 60–89-day section of the monthly delinquency report.
Document and monitor all delinquent borrower payment plan arrangements to ensure follow-through and completion.
Assist the Recovery Resolutions Supervisor with the monitoring of deceased accounts.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
Education A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills Talks to others to convey information effectively. Communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Maintains confidentiality related to Credit Union operations and work-related information. Computer operating systems; e.g. Microsoft Windows
