RECRUITER

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the assigned Human Resources Manager, the recruiter will participate in recruitment, interviewing, and participating in the pre-screening process of district employees. This consists of, but is not limited to, the recruitment of ESP, Certified, Administrative, Central Services, Nutritional Services, et.al.

The recruiter is expected to meet regularly with hiring managers to determine candidate profiles to prescreen for, schedule interviews, and receive feedback on candidates presented.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates for teaching, administrative, and support staff positions;

Collaborate with hiring managers to understand the specific needs and requirements of each position;

Proactively source candidates through various channels, including online job boards, social media, career fairs, university partnerships, and community outreach;

Build and maintain a pipeline of potential candidates for future vacancies;

Leverage social media platforms and other tools to engage passive candidates;

Review resumes, conduct initial phone screens, and evaluate candidates' qualifications and cultural fit;

Coordinate and conduct interviews, both in-person and virtual, alongside hiring teams;

Manage the interview process, including scheduling, feedback collection, and candidate communication;

Promote WCSD as an employer of choice within the education sector;

Represent WCSD at career fairs, community events, and online forums to attract talent;

Develop and distribute recruitment materials that highlight the district's values, culture, and benefits;

Work cross-departmentally to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires, including necessary paperwork, orientation sessions, and initial training;

Monitor candidate and employee satisfaction and retention, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement;

Assist in the development of retention strategies to reduce turnover and increase employee engagement;

Ensure all recruitment activities comply with federal, state, and local laws, including equal employment opportunity (EEO) regulations;

Maintain accurate records of candidate interactions and recruitment activities;

Maintain relationships and collaborate with hiring managers, district administrators, site leaders and central services;

Disposition all candidates to ensure a consistent and clean ATS (applicant tracking system);

Generate and provide self-reporting on metrics such as, but not limited to, time-to-fill, time-to-hire, and general placement ratios;

And perform any other duties, as assigned.

Employment Standards

Education/Experience : ? Any combination of education and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying.? A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be: ?

Education : High School Diploma or GED required, a bachelor's degree in business administration or human resources preferred;

Experience : Two (2) years of professional experience in some aspect of human resource administration or talent acquisition procedures, recruitment, interviewing, selecting, labor relations, or education;

Licenses/Certificates : None required, SHRM-CP or a PHR preferred.

Salary

Grade 24

Annual Salary: 60,799 (Entry Step)

Salaries are subject to adjustment and may increase and decrease each fiscal year. New employees hired by Washoe County School District are normally placed on the entry step of the grade of the position. View the salary schedules here.

Please be advised health insurance premiums are paid by employees at a prorated percent for those working less than full time.
