Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist

Description


We are seeking a Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist to support high-volume hiring across our manufacturing & distribution teams. This role is vital to keeping candidates moving from sourcing through their start date, and requires a strong focus on staying organized, highly communicative, and meeting cannabis compliance requirements.
This role is primarily remote, with willingness to travel 1-2x per month to support HR onsite operations & events.


Key Responsibilities


Sourcing & Hiring
  • Support hiring for high-volume manufacturing roles across multiple open roles simultaneously.
  • Proactively source candidates through job boards, referrals, local outreach, and community partnerships.
  • Conduct initial candidate screens to assess basic qualifications, availability, and role fit and schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
  • Maintain active communication throughout the hiring process to keep candidates engaged and reduce drop-off.
  • Partner with hiring managers to align on candidate flow, interview feedback, and hiring timelines.
Onboarding & Compliance
  • Own and ensure all cannabis badging and licensing requirements are completed prior to start date (guide candidates through state-specific compliance requirements and documentation).
  • Process background checks, I-9 verification, and other pre-employment onboarding steps to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Manage onboarding timelines to support group start dates and high-volume hiring, and proactively follow up to prevent delays, incomplete documentation, or onboarding drop-off that may result in missed hiring deadlines.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • 21+ years old (industry requirement).
  • Proactive, with the ability to manage time and priorities independently.
  • 2–4 years of experience in recruiting, coordination, or high-volume hiring environments (agency experience a plus).
  • Experience supporting hiring for hourly or operational roles (manufacturing, warehouse, retail, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruiting tools.
  • Experience in regulated industries (cannabis, food production, pharmaceuticals, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and manage state-specific cannabis badging requirements.
