Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Recycler, Transfer worker, Back up driver helper and play a vital role in maintaining environmental sustainability and efficient waste management. In this energetic position, you will operate some heavy equipment, handle recyclable materials, and ensure the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. Your proactive approach will help us reduce waste, promote recycling initiatives, and support our commitment to eco-friendly practices. You will also go out on trucks and help on routes as a driver helper as needed. This paid position offers an engaging work environment where your skills contribute directly to environmental preservation and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Operate skid steers, bobcat, loaders, forklifts, front loader, trucks, and other equipment safely and efficiently to handle recyclable materials.
- Load and unload recyclable waste from various containers, balers and transportation vehicles with precision and care.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas by performing routine cleaning tasks and sanitation procedures.
- Assist in sorting, separating, and processing recyclable materials to ensure proper recycling protocols are followed.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Support sanitation efforts by managing waste disposal processes and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize recycling operations and improve overall efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience operating machinery such as loaders, skidsters, forklifts, front loader, or trucks.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing or waste management processes related to recycling.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail when handling recyclable materials and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors effectively.
- Physical stamina for prolonged periods of standing, lifting, and operating equipment throughout shifts. Able to work in any climate. Hot, cold, wet weather conditions.
- Valid certifications for forklift operation or heavy equipment operation are a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided for qualified candidates. Pay: $18.00 - $21.50 per hour
