Refractory Foreman

Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose

To supervise and coordinate refractory and fireproofing works at site, ensuring adherence to ARAMCO/SABIC standards, project specifications, and HSE requirements, while leading site teams for timely and quality execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily refractory and fireproofing activities at site for furnaces, boilers, heaters, and reactors.

  • Ensure installation, lining, gunning, casting, anchoring, and curing are carried out as per drawings and specifications.

  • Lead, guide, and assign tasks to refractory masons, helpers, and subcontractors.

  • Conduct inspections of materials, anchoring systems, and workmanship for compliance with ARAMCO/SABIC standards.

  • Coordinate with QA/QC, HSE, and client representatives for approvals and inspections.

  • Ensure all activities follow Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures, especially during shutdowns and turnarounds.

  • Maintain daily reports, progress updates, and manpower allocation records.

  • Enforce strict compliance with safety policies and participate in toolbox talks.

  • Troubleshoot site challenges, delays, or technical issues to ensure smooth project execution.


  • Diploma / Technical Certificate in Mechanical or Industrial discipline.

  • 8–10 years’ experience in refractory and fireproofing works in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects.

  • Hands-on experience in ARAMCO projects and SABIC shutdowns is mandatory.

  • Strong knowledge of refractory installation techniques (casting, gunning, brick lining, fiber modules, anchors, coating).

  • Experience in fireproofing applications for structural steel, vessels, and piping.

  • Familiarity with ARAMCO/SABIC QA/QC procedures and safety standards.
