Refrigeration Technician

Overview
We are a commercial Electrical/HVAC/Lock company specializing in light commercial projects. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Refrigeration Tech to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC & Refrigeration systems, mechanical knowledge, and experience in commercial repair and maintenance. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing walk in freezer/cooler, reach in freezer/cooler, and ice machines in primarily commercial properties.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in units, and ice machines
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues in commercial refrigeration systems
• Replace compressors, motors, coils, valves, and other system components
• Locate and repair refrigerant leaks; recover, evacuate, and recharge systems
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning coils and checking refrigerant levels
• Sanitize and maintain ice machines per health and safety standards
• Troubleshoot and adjust thermostats, defrost systems, and control boards
• Maintain accurate service records and refrigerant usage logs
• Communicate clearly with customers about work performed and recommendations
• Follow EPA and OSHA safety regulations, including proper refrigerant handling
• Use diagnostic tools to verify system performance after repairs
• Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with tasks in other departments or supporting other trades as needed.

Requirements

• Proven 5+ years experience in refrigetration repair.
• Ability to independently handle service calls for walk in freezer/cooler, reach in freezer/cooler, and ice machines
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
