Regional Sales Director – Ocular Biologics

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Regional Sales Director – Ocular Biologics will play a critical leadership role in the commercialization and regional market expansion of Cellution Biologics’ ophthalmic regenerative product portfolio. This leader will be responsible for driving regional revenue growth, leading the successful launch and adoption of ocular biologic technologies, and building a high-performing field sales organization. The role requires strategic leadership combined with hands-on commercial execution to establish strong relationships with optometrists, ophthalmologists and surgical centers across subspecialties including cornea, glaucoma, retina, and oculoplastics. The Regional Sales Director (RSD) will operate at the intersection of clinical science, commercial strategy, and market development, partnering closely with marketing, sales operations, medical affairs, and executive leadership to accelerate product adoption and build sustainable regional growth. This role requires a proven commercial leader with strong ophthalmology or surgical sales experience, a demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets, and the ability to scale a sales organization within a fast-growing biotechnology environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Commercial Leadership & Market Development

  • Lead regional commercialization strategy to drive market adoption of Cellution Biologics’ ocular graft and regenerative biologic technologies.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive regional sales and market development plans aligned with corporate growth objectives and product launch milestones.
  • Identify, develop, and penetrate key strategic accounts including specialty ophthalmology practices, optometry practices, academic medical centers, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).
  • Drive regional revenue performance and ensure consistent achievement or overachievement of sales quotas and growth targets.
  • Lead regional launch readiness and execution strategies to ensure rapid adoption of newly introduced products.


Sales Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-performing field sales representatives focused on exceptional customer engagement and clinical credibility.
  • Establish a high-performance culture of accountability, collaboration, and compliant promotion.
  • Conduct regular field rides, territory reviews, and performance coaching to elevate sales effectiveness.
  • Lead team meetings, regional training initiatives, and performance reviews to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.


Customer & Key Opinion Leader Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with optometrists, ophthalmologists, cornea specialists, glaucoma surgeons, retinal specialists, and oculoplastic surgeons.
  • Engage key decision makers across both clinical and economic stakeholders within healthcare systems.
  • Develop relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to advance physician education, clinical adoption, and thought leadership.
  • Represent Cellution Biologics at industry conferences, medical congresses, and professional society events.


Strategic Account Management

  • Personally manage select high-value regional accounts and strategic customer relationships.
  • Support institutional selling efforts with integrated delivery networks (IDNs), health systems, and academic institutions.
  • Lead high-level economic discussions including pricing strategy, contracting, reimbursement considerations, and value-based selling.


Commercial Execution & Sales Operations

  • Monitor regional performance using CRM platforms and internal sales analytics tools.
  • Develop sales forecasts, pipeline analysis, and territory performance metrics to guide strategic decision making.
  • Translate insights from market analytics, reimbursement trends, and competitive intelligence into actionable commercial strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales operations, training, and medical affairs to ensure effective commercial execution.


Coaching & Sales Excellence

  • Establish clear performance metrics and systems of accountability across territories.
  • Implement best practices in consultative selling, clinical engagement, and solution-based sales strategies.
  • Continuously mentor sales representatives to enhance clinical fluency, account planning, and customer engagement effectiveness.


Compliance & Organizational Leadership

  • Ensure strict adherence to corporate compliance standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Act as a strategic liaison between field sales teams and executive leadership, providing insights that shape future commercial strategy.
  • Lead change management initiatives and continuously improve commercial processes to support sustained growth.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of medical device, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical sales experience.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of field sales leadership experience managing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong experience selling into ophthalmology, optometry, surgical specialties, regenerative medicine, or advanced wound care markets preferred.
  • Demonstrated success launching new medical technologies or biologic therapies.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas and driving regional revenue growth.
  • Experience navigating complex healthcare environments including hospitals, ASCs, physician offices, and academic institutions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Field-based position within the assigned U.S. region.
  • 50–75% travel required, including customer visits, industry conferences, national sales meetings, and travel to corporate headquarters.

  • Ability to participate in client meetings, surgical center visits, presentations, and industry conferences.
