Duties

Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained
Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to document treatment details accurately
Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations
Provide patient education on dental procedures and post-treatment care to promote oral health awareness
Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing medical documentation and records
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and anatomy knowledge for safe practice
Assist with medical coding and documentation for billing purposes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards

Experience

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly preferred
Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
Experience performing chairside assisting in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is advantageous
Knowledge of X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology
Ability to perform vital signs measurement and assist with medical imaging procedures confidently
Prior experience supporting multiple specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics is beneficial
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and coordinate with team members
