Part-Time Dental Hygienist – Flexible Schedule
Happy Teeth Pediatric Dentistry is looking for a part-time dental hygienist to join our friendly pediatric team!
Position Details:
- Start with 1–2 days per week
- Flexible hours available

Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) using digital systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health.
- Assist the dentist during various procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance with HIPAA regulations, and proper medical coding for billing purposes.
- Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry needs.
- Maintain sterilization standards, infection control procedures, and proper handling of dental instruments in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Manage patient records efficiently, ensuring all documentation review is thorough and up-to-date within our EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Support the dental team by performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and updating patient information.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, record keeping, and imaging management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable to effectively care for young patients in a friendly manner.
- Ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on patient assessment, education, and comfort.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs measurement, medical imaging techniques, and documentation review processes.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
- Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting involving dental assisting duties is preferred.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
