Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team 1-2 DAYS PER WEEK.

In this vital role, you will provide top-quality preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health, and support the overall function of the dental practice. Your expertise will help ensure patients receive comprehensive, compassionate care in a welcoming environment. Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns
  • Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
  • Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and clinical notes in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe clinical environment
  • Review medical records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Monitor and record vital signs before procedures to assess patient health status
  • Support pediatric dentistry by providing gentle care tailored to children’s needs and engaging young patients effectively

Skills

  • Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation and scheduling
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children in a clinical setting
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards
  • Familiarity with medical imaging techniques including X-ray safety protocols
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills for educating patients about oral health and treatment procedures
  • Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and general health assessments
  • Ability to review medical records accurately and assist with medical coding when necessary
  • Commitment to infection prevention through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization methods
