Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain optimal oral health for patients of all ages.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking medical histories and evaluating oral health status to inform treatment plans.
• Manage medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower their health decisions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines strictly to ensure patient confidentiality and secure handling of medical records.

Requirements

• Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics with familiarity in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and medical terminology.
