Registered DHA Nurse for Nursery

We are looking for a Registered DHA general nurse to join our happy team. The suitable candidate must hold a DHA license or an Eligibility letter. The nursery Head nurse /clinic director should ensure that the health, safety and wellbeing of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the nursery by overseeing all staff, encouraging professional practice at all times and keeping safety reports daily.

The requirements for the candidate are:

• Bachelor/Masters of Science in Nursing or Equivalent - fully attested
• DHA License – General Nurse
• Strong knowledge of childhood illness and injuries
• Pediatric First Aid Trained (extra training would be given)
• Registered nurse in home country
• Confident, competent and able to lead a team of very special nurses.
• Articulate and clear communicator
• Can work independently and take initiative
• Previous experience as a school/nursery nurse is a bonus.
• Warm, kind and compassionate personality essential.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Maintain school health records, including all accident and incident reports.
• Leading and mentoring all support staff
• Developing positive working partnerships with parents and children.
• To administer First Aid Treatment and liaise with the staff on infection control.
• To liaise with management and the schools visiting pediatrician.
• To follow up on any medical concerns mentioned by staff in relation to children.
• To telephone the parents on medical matters
• To do daily rounds of each class and take a temperature check of all children – dealing with any concerns.
• To attend to children as needed for any medical concerns that arise throughout the day
• To administer prescribed medicines, providing it is not the first dose.
• To complete daily and weekly safety checks around the nursery.
• To follow at all times the nursery guidelines for hygiene and lead others in high standards.
• To oversee the health and safety folder and record book to ensure compliance
• To maintain and restock all medical supplies on the premises and ensure the clinic is clean and tidy at all times.
• Work with multi - agencies on inspections of the nursery premises.
• Update medical license and malpractice in accordance with online DHA requirements
