About This Job

We are a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services, including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. At Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center, we are able to bring you a wide range of services close to home, provided by a network of board-certified physicians.

The RN 1–2 position, based in the Medicine Unit, delivers professional nursing care and supports the overall treatment and recovery of patients. This is a night shift position.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse.

Job Duties:

Job Duties and Other Information

  • Provides initial assessment and ongoing reassessment of patient including, but not limited to biophysical, psycho-social, environmental, self-care, education and discharge planning factors.
  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
  • Communicate and coordinate patient care with Charge Nurse, oncoming nurse and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Implement patient care, treatments and provide medications at appropriate intervals as prescribed by doctor's order.
  • Participate in staff development in-services based upon assessed learning needs.
  • Participate in unit meetings, quality improvement activities and orientation of new RN or subordinate staff members. Accept delegated Charge Nurse duties.
  • Attend Educational In-Services, Mandatory Training and Annual Review as required by hospital policy and procedure or deemed necessary by supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned include ensuring departmental coverage.

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional.

Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a RN 1 to RN 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).

Work Hours: This is a night shift position.

Compensation: This position receives additional pay for every hour worked as follows.

  • Base Pay RN 2- $27.00
  • Shift 2 -- $3/hour
  • Shift 3 -- $4.60/hour
  • Weekends -- $4.60/hour
  • Holidays -- $4.60/hour
  • Certifications -- $3/hour
