Job Description / Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care as Scrub Nurse and Circulating Nurse.

Maintain strict sterile and aseptic techniques inside the Operation Theatre.

Prepare OT setup including instruments, consumables, equipment, and sterile trays.

Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating surgical needs.

Perform and document sponge, needle, and instrument counts as per protocol.

Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, OT technicians, and ward staff.

Conduct WHO Surgical Safety Checklist (Sign In, Time Out, Sign Out).

Assist in patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and dressing.

Monitor patient safety and maintain dignity throughout the procedure.

Handle and label surgical specimens as per hospital policy.

Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of OT instruments.

Follow infection control, NABH, and biomedical waste management guidelines.

Assist in emergency and night-duty OT procedures as per duty roster.

Maintain OT documentation, registers, and shift handovers.

BLS / ACLS
