Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab)

Job Overview

This is a dynamic role providing specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, be confident in critical decision-making, and demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans tailored to each patient's condition and treatment goals.
  • Monitor, record, and report patient conditions accurately to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Support patients and families by providing education, updates, and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, and health status.
  • Collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care.
  • Participate in patient transfers, discharges, and referrals as needed.
  • Maintain vigilance in promoting patient safety and preventing medical errors.
  • Respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Advocate for the physical, emotional, and legal rights of patients.
  • Take on-call shifts as scheduled, with readiness to respond promptly when needed.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in the state of Kentucky or an approved compact state.
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Must be able to function effectively in high-stress situations and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to take rotating on-call shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Prior Cath Lab or cardiac care experience
