Registered Nurse Supervisor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. In this vital role, you will oversee clinical operations, supervise nursing staff, and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care across diverse departments. Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations for nursing staff, fostering professional development.
  • Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans, including dementia care, behavioral health, and geriatrics.
  • Manage clinical operations involving EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for seamless documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterile processing procedures.
  • Participate in discharge planning, utilization review, and case management to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization.
  • Oversee specialized procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, tube feeding management, and ventilator care in acute care settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements including OSHA standards, NCQA standards, and workers' compensation law.
  • Lead emergency response efforts including airway management and acute pain management during critical incidents or trauma situations.

Qualifications

  • Valid registered nurse license with current state registration.
  • Proven supervisory experience in a healthcare setting; previous nurse management preferred.
  • Extensive critical care experience including ICU or Level I Trauma Center environments.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding and medical documentation standards.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute care and specialized units like PICU or neonatal ventilator management.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring dementia or memory care services is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform patient assessments involving vital signs, physical examinations, specimen collection/processing, and diagnostic evaluation.
  • Skilled in medication administration including injections and IV therapy; competent in venipuncture and sterile techniques.
  • Excellent team management skills with the ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams effectively.
