Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced professional to manage end-to-end importation of laboratory and analytical chemicals into the UAE, ensuring full compliance with local regulatory authorities. The role requires strong regulatory expertise combined with market understanding of analytical, research, and quality control laboratories operating GC, HPLC, LC-MS, ICP-MS, Food and Beverage industry grade chemicals, and related platforms.
The candidate will act as a key link between manufacturers, regulatory bodies, logistics partners, and end-user laboratories.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory & Compliance
- Manage chemical imports in compliance with UAE regulations, including:
- MOIAT / Montaji registration
- Dubai Municipality (Montaji / FIRS)
- MOCCAE (where applicable)
- Customs clearance regulations (Dubai Customs, Abu Dhabi Customs)
- Classify chemicals correctly (research use, industrial, food testing, environmental testing, IVD RUO).
- Handle SDS review, GHS labeling, HS code classification, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with government authorities for approvals, permits, exemptions, and renewals.
- Ensure compliance with REACH, CLP, CE-IVD, RUO requirements where applicable.
- Maintain regulatory records, licenses, and audit-ready documentation.
Import & Supply Chain Management
- Coordinate imports from Europe, USA, China, Korea, India, and other regions.
- Work with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance.
- Forecast import timelines and manage regulatory risks that may impact supply.
- Optimize import cost structures and lead times.
Market & Commercial Understanding
- Understand the chemical consumption patterns of:
- Analytical testing laboratories
- Research & academic labs
- Food, water, dairy, environmental, and pharma QC labs
- Support sales and product teams with:
- Regulatory feasibility of new products
- Market entry strategy for new chemicals
- Advise on product positioning based on laboratory workflows and instrumentation.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with:
- International manufacturers and principals
- Internal sales, marketing, and finance teams
- Regulatory consultants and logistics partners
- Support distributor onboarding and principal audits.
Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in:
- Import of laboratory chemicals, reagents, or analytical consumables in the UAE
- Hands-on knowledge of UAE chemical regulations, including:
- MOIAT / Montaji
- Dubai Municipality chemical registration
- Customs clearance procedures
- Strong understanding of analytical laboratory markets, including:
- Food & water testing labs
- Environmental labs
- Research and academic labs
- Industrial QC labs
- Proven experience handling SDS, GHS classification, HS codes, and labeling
- Experience working with analytical instruments consumables (HPLC, GC, LC-MS, ICP, molecular biology reagents)
- Excellent coordination skills with regulators, suppliers, and internal teams
