To acquire, manage, and grow banking relationships with emerging corporate clients by providing working capital solutions, trade finance, transactional banking, and cross-sell of all relevant banking products. The role involves portfolio management, credit assessment, business development, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
A. Business Development & Acquisition
Identify and onboard new emerging corporate clients (typically turnover between ₹250–2000 Cr, as per bank norms).
Drive new-to-bank acquisition for working capital limits (funded and non-funded).
Conduct regular market visits, client meetings, and build strong referral networks.
Achieve monthly/quarterly revenue, asset book, and liability targets.
B. Portfolio & Relationship Management
Manage an existing portfolio ensuring revenue growth and portfolio hygiene.
Deepen relationships by cross-selling trade, forex, CMS, corporate cards, treasury, and insurance products.
Monitor account behavior, limit utilisation, and identify early warning signals.
Ensure high customer satisfaction and timely resolution of service issues.
C. Credit & Risk Management
Understand client’s financials, business model, working capital cycle, and industry risks.
Prepare detailed credit proposals and coordinate with credit teams for approvals.
Ensure adherence to internal compliance, regulatory guidelines, and risk frameworks.
Monitor security documentation, post-sanction conditions, and periodic renewals.
D. Internal Coordination
Liaise with credit, legal, operations, trade desk, treasury, and other product teams.
Work closely with CASA, CMS, Trade, FX, and Wealth teams to provide complete banking solutions.
Ensure smooth processing of proposals, documentation, and disbursements.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of working capital products (CC/OD, BG, LC, PCFC, Bill Discounting, etc.)
Good analytical skills for balance sheet and P&L understanding.
Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Market intelligence and ability to generate business leads.
Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a high-pressure, target-driven environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: MBA / CA preferred
Experience:
RM: 3–15 years in business banking / SME / ECG / working capital lending.
TL: 10–20+ years with experience in leading a team and handling large portfolios.
