Remote Tax Expert, CPA

Duties

  • Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provide expert guidance on estate planning strategies, wills, trusts, and estate law to help clients preserve wealth and plan for future generations.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and interpret financial reports to identify opportunities for tax savings and strategic improvements.
  • Assist clients with regulatory reporting requirements, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and other financial disclosures.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure accuracy in financial statement preparation using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools.
  • Support mergers & acquisitions by conducting due diligence reviews and advising on tax implications related to corporate restructuring or asset management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of securities law, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and other relevant regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.

Skills

  • Extensive experience in tax accounting with a strong understanding of federal and state tax codes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial management tools.
  • Solid knowledge of estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law to advise clients effectively.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Strong analysis skills for interpreting financial statements and conducting account reconciliation.
  • Expertise in auditing procedures, public accounting practices, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Ability to handle complex financial concepts such as GAAP standards, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial report writing.
  • Excellent communication skills for providing clear guidance on mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, asset management strategies, and financial planning.
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles as well as accounts payable processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client accounts efficiently while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines. Pay: $90,000.00 - $121,269.21 per year
