Remotely GSAS engineer

Job Summary:
The GSAS Design Engineer is responsible for leading the implementation of GSAS sustainability requirements during the design stage of projects. The role focuses on integrating sustainable strategies into the early phases of project development to achieve GSAS certification, ensuring compliance with all applicable criteria as outlined by GORD.
Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage the GSAS Design certification process from concept to detailed design.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to embed sustainability strategies into design solutions.
• Review and advise on architectural, mechanical, and electrical design documents for compliance with GSAS requirements.
• Prepare and submit GSAS Design submittals (Narratives, Drawings, Calculations, and Evidence Files) to GORD.
• Conduct preliminary GSAS assessments and provide design feedback to meet the targeted rating level.
• Monitor and document sustainability performance metrics such as energy efficiency, water conservation, material selection, and site ecology.
• Attend and contribute to design coordination meetings to integrate GSAS requirements across disciplines.
• Liaise with GORD for audits, design reviews, and feedback implementation.
• Provide technical support in simulation/modeling for daylight, thermal comfort, and energy modeling (as required for GSAS credits).
• Maintain organized records of all GSAS-related design documentation and communications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
• GSAS-CGP is **mandatory**.
• 3–5 years of experience with GSAS design-stage projects.
• In-depth knowledge of GSAS Design criteria and certification workflow.
• Familiarity with sustainability design tools such as IES-VE, DesignBuilder, or other performance modeling software.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Proficient in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Suite) and MS Office.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in sustainability frameworks is an advantage.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple design packages and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and local authority requirements.
