Repair Plant - Ready Mix

Description:
A ready-mix repairman is responsible for performing regular maintenance, repairs, and improvements on concrete batch plants and supporting equipment. They may lay concrete, set forms, perform general construction repairs, or do mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.

Essential Functions of the Position:
•Takes direction from the ready-mix repair manager and drives to remote locations to perform timely and reliable repairs on ready-mix plants with minimal supervision.
•Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
•Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
•Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
•Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
•Grade, compact, set up, and place concrete per specifications.
•Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment and performs necessary repairs.
•Assists plant operators in scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
•Contributes to a positive team culture, ensuring a motivating and respectful environment that promotes high morale and productivity.
•Adheres to all safety protocols in accordance with OSHA standards and company policies, ensuring the health and safety of all team members while on the job.
•Communicates with the repair foreman to understand the needs of the operators and deficiencies in the plants.

Skills and Knowledge:
•Mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of mechanical principles including gears, bearings, hydraulics and conveying systems.
•Hand tool proficiency.
•Welding and torching skills.
•Ability to lift and carry heavy objects through rough terrain.
•Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
•Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with a small team.
•The ability to operate forklifts, manlifts, and tractors.

Requirements:
•Must have a valid Class C driver’s license.
•Driver record cannot contain any reckless driving offences, DUIs, leaving the scene of an accident, etc.
•Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
•Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

• Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling, and/or

action/discipline.
