General Function

Performs a wide variety of standard to complex technical activities related to developing processes to collect, retrieve, analyze, present and publish research and evaluation studies.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Participates in research design and analysis from start to finish (sample methodology, data collection, data entry, and data analysis); programs statistical analysis routines in either SAS and/or SPSS to produce source documentation.
2. Works directly with the directors of Planning and Research in coordinating data analysis/evaluation, report writing, and data dissemination.
3. Authors narratives, tables, and graphs using Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
4. Collaborates with department staff, campus stakeholders, the NCCCS system office, state agencies, and federal reporting agencies, in order to provide institutional data for various government mandated reports, and system office requirements (IPEDS, FTE estimates, College board data).
5. Collaborates with internal and external campus constitutions regarding available data, study methodology, implementation strategies, and potential research publications.
6. Synthesizes research outcomes into understandable reports using various data visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Power Bi).
7. Prepares, formats and archives weekly data extractions using the main student information system and SAS programs.
8. Prepares data extracts from the main student information system using Informer.
9. Point analyst for internal ad hoc data requests focusing on enrollment, retention, and completion.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience in technical writing and/or research designing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google productivity suites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in institutional effectiveness, evaluation and/or assessment
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis System (SAS) programming or SPSS

Working Conditions:

Pay: $42,935.00 - $45,000.00 per year
