Research and development head

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement the company’s R&D strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Identify emerging trends, technologies, and market opportunities.
• Create long-term innovation roadmaps.
• Establish KPIs to measure R&D effectiveness and ROI.

2. Product & Innovation Management

• Oversee the full product development lifecycle (concept to commercialization).
• Lead feasibility studies, prototyping, testing, and validation.
• Drive continuous improvement of existing products/services.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

3. Team Leadership & Talent Development

• Build, lead, and mentor cross-functional R&D teams (engineers, scientists, analysts).
• Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and collaboration.
• Manage recruitment, performance evaluations, and skill development.
• Promote knowledge sharing and technical excellence.

4. Budget & Resource Management

• Develop and manage R&D budgets.
• Allocate resources effectively across projects.
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Ensure cost-effective innovation without compromising quality.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Product, Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams.
• Translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Support go-to-market strategies with technical insights.

6. Risk Management & Compliance

• Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
• Oversee intellectual property development (patents, trademarks, trade secrets).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or related field (PhD preferred in research-intensive industries).
• 10+ years of experience in R&D or product development.
• 5+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven track record of successful product launches.
• Strong project management skills.
• Experience managing budgets and cross-functional teams.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
