Posting Summary

The Driscoll laboratory in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Nelson Labs Bldg, Busch Campus, Piscataway, NJ at Rutgers University is seeking a research associate non tenure track position. The position is available for research on a newly discovered mechanism by which neurons remove dangerous “trash” in a project relevant to human neurodegenerative disease mechanisms. The experienced PhD scientist hired will work on a focused project on the molecular processes that mediate elimination of deleterious materials from neurons and collaborate in a larger team

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant ﬁeld with a focus in Molecular Biosciences, Cell Biology or Neurobiology or related field; and extensive experience in C. elegans genetics, molecular biology, and aging biology. Imaging using confocal microscopy.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience in genetics and molecular cloning techniques, including C. elegans CRISPRand genetic engineering, computational imaging using confocal microscopy, and C.elegans culture. Experience in scientiﬁc publication, grant preparation and dissemination.
