Research Center Administrator

Posting Summary
Define, develop, implement, and lead a robust research enterprise consisting of grants, contracts, and a fee-for service account. Perform grant preparation, budget creation and management, protocol development and oversight, quality control and data analysis, and daily supervision of the Laboratory of Clinical Biochemistry Research (LCBR), including direct supervision of senior staff to manage project timelines and set work schedules and priorities for technical staff. Act as key contact and advisor to outside agencies, including extramural faculty-level investigators, representing the LCBR and making decisions for PIs in their absence. Work in collaboration with LCBR faculty.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Master’s degree in biochemistry, epidemiology, or related field and four to six years’ related experience required including administrative experience working in a clinical laboratory and/or clinical research setting required. Supervisory skills required. Experience in designing and implementing large scale clinical trials and/or epidemiological observational studies including budget building, extramural training, preparing Manuals of Operations, supplying phlebotomy kits, etc. Expertise with spreadsheet and word processing programs, databases, and statistical software programs (e.g., SPSS) required. Experience with securing grant funding; primarily NIH and AHA; familiarity with funding source forms.

Desirable Qualifications
Knowlege of UVM financial and administrative systems is highly preferable.

Anticipated Pay Range
$110,000-$116,742

Special Conditions
A probationary period may be required, Contingent on continued funding, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions, Background Check required for this position
