The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Center for AIDS Research, is seeking a skilled and experienced Researcher Scientist Lead to join their team. The UAB Center for AIDS Research seeks a scientist to join our team of implementation science focused investigators. This position participates in leadership and visioning for the newly funded HIV Implementation Science Hub that is closely affiliated with the CFAR. In addition, the position will be responsible for designing and overseeing operations for all of the Hub activities including providing consultations for investigators across the US who are conducting HIV implementation science, developing, launching and sustaining implementation science training programs across multiple levels of education (e.g. high school, undergraduate, graduate), and participating in collaborative opportunities with the cross-CFAR Hub network and other national HIV research networks. This position requires understanding of implementation science (methodology, operationalization, results dissemination), academic-public health partnerships, social determinants of health, community engaged science, and the conduct of implementation science in clinical and community-based spaces.
General Responsibilities
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Collect, synthesize and prioritize ideas for new activities; plan and lead regular meetings of all Hub members to provide updates on Hub activities and progress.
Create systems to execute and monitor activity progress
Identify partners across UAB, Birmingham, and the region to develop and sustain partnerships for implementation of science training.
Identify partners across national HIV research networks to develop and sustain partnerships for growing the field of implementation science and creating new collaborative opportunities for investigators to conduct implementation science.
Represent the Hub at regular meetings of the cross.
Contribute to the planning/design of new studies.
Contribute to grant proposals and assist in the preparation and editing of grant applications, with particular focus on implementation science methods.
Train and supervise new staff from CFAR with time dedicated to the Hub.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Range $ 94,375 - $ 153,355
