Mission Statement:
The Mission of Stepping Stone Ministries (SSM) is to provide a safe and healing environment for individuals experiencing homelessness who need to recover from illness or injury. While providing respite recovery, we seek to foster community connections that will promote stable housing, recovery and independence.
Position Overview:
The Residential Care Manager (RM) is a critical member of the medical respite care team. The RCM provides evening and overnight support and assistance to residents in medical respite care. RCM care includes responding to resident medical respite core service needs during shift hours and ensuring environmental and resident safety.
Qualifications:
High school education or GED required. Previous direct experience with the homeless population preferred, or previous experience working with underserved populations preferred. Lived experience welcomed.

§ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
§ Strong time management and organizational skills
§ Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated, while also working as a team member
§ Basic computer skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Respond to resident overnight care needs (light needs)
§ Provide support, companionship, and reassurance to residents as needed
§ Conduct resident overnight wellness checks at designated intervals, and as needed
§ Respond to an event or emergency that may arise, using agency protocol and training techniques
§ Provide access to resident medications at designated times, and as needed.
§ Documents resident self-administration of medication per agency protocol
§ Ensure facility safety by monitoring security cameras and conducting internal security checks
§ Prepare and organize continental breakfast for residents
§ Maintain records/reports of events, incident reports and resident care needs per agency standards
§ Provide excellent hand-off communication to incoming staff at shift change
General:
§ This position is a M-F, 3-11 pm shift
§ Complies with policies and procedures developed by SSM
§ Must be able to get to and from SSM in a variety of weather conditions
§ May require occasional resident transportation to medical appointments
§ Other duties could include meal prep, light housekeeping, data entry
Essential Functions:
Must be able to physically operate appliances and equipment including computers, office equipment, printer, home appliances, and operate a vehicle. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently throughout the shift, following proper body mechanics for lifting and changing positions frequently. Must be able to lift moderately heavy objects, manipulate tools and materials. Functions:
o Sitting, walking, standing continuous throughout shift
o Lifting 10 lbs or less frequently
o Lifting 11-50 lbs occasionally
o Lifting 50+ lbs occasionally
o Hand functions- grasp and pinch occasionally
o Visual ability to read/work on a computer

Training Requirements:
Successfully participate in respite program orientation and training to include: CPR, Medical Health Technician training, de-escalation and crisis-management training, infection control training, trauma-informed care training, and complete online homeless training program modules. Review of all applicable policies and procedures.
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must complete a background check
Must complete and successfully pass drug/alcohol testing
