POSITION OVERVIEW

A Trend Micro Resident Engineer is a dedicated, on-site cybersecurity expert who acts as a trusted advisor and a direct technical liaison for a client. They provide in-depth, hands-on expertise for Trend Micro's suite of security products, ensuring the solutions are optimally deployed, configured, and managed within the customer's specific IT environment to maximize their security posture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•On-site Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Trend Micro security solutions, including the Vision One™ platform, Apex One™, Deep Security™, and Cloud One™. Provide continuous, hands-on support for implementation, configuration, and daily operations.

•Implementation & Project Lifecycle Management : Act as the project coordinator for the deployment and integration of Trend Micro solutions, managing the entire lifecycle from planning to closure.

• Planning & Design: Lead project kick-off meetings to introduce stakeholders, identify requirements, and agree on communication plans. Conduct design review sessions to explain the proposed security architecture.
• Deployment & Integration: Oversee all deployment activities, ensuring customer resources can shadow the process for hands-on learning .
• Knowledge Transfer & Handover: Deliver comprehensive deployment overviews and knowledge transfer sessions to the client's team. Manage system handover, user acceptance testing (UAT), and final project sign-off.

•Proactive System Management: Proactively monitor the health, performance, and effectiveness of Trend Micro products. Conduct regular system health checks, perform policy tuning and optimization, and manage product upgrades to ensure a robust security posture.

•Incident Response and Advanced Troubleshooting: Act as the first point of escalation for complex technical issues and potential security incidents related to Trend Micro products. Collaborate closely with the client's Security Operations Center (SOC) to investigate threats and lead troubleshooting efforts to rapid resolution.

•Strategic Security Advising: Gain a deep understanding of the client's business objectives and security challenges. Provide strategic recommendations on security best practices, architectural improvements, and new feature adoption to enhance their overall security framework.

•Liaison & Reporting: Function as the central communication point between the client and Trend Micro's internal teams. Prepare and present regular operational reports, security posture assessments, and executive summaries to key stakeholders.

Technical Skills

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Experience: 5-8 years of hands-on experience in a senior cybersecurity role, such as a security engineer, analyst, or consultant. Direct experience deploying and managing enterprise-level security solutions is essential.
• Trend Micro Product Proficiency: Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with core Trend Micro platforms .
• Server and Cloud Security: Deep Security™, Cloud One™ - Workload Security
• Network Security: TippingPoint™, Deep Discovery™

Certifications:

• Highly Desirable: Trend Micro Certified Professional certifications (e.g., for Vision One, Deep Security, or Apex One).
• Valued: Industry-standard certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).
• Core Knowledge: A strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, including networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S), operating systems (Windows, Linux), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
