JOB SUMMARY

The Resident Engineer serves as the Consultant’s representative on-site, responsible for supervising the execution of project works across multiple disciplines. This role includes leading the consultant’s team, ensuring compliance with contract documents, approved drawings, and regulatory standards, reviewing contractor submissions, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of works.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as the Consultant’s on-site representative for a specific project zone, ensuring the consultant’s duties are fulfilled
• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary consultant supervision team, including Architects, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers
• Conduct final review of contractor submissions (prequalification, technical materials, shop drawings, method statements) and provide approval or rejection decisions
• Ensure all works are executed according to contract documents, approved drawings, and project specifications; report nonconformities to the Employer
• Conduct daily coordination and communication with the Contractor, Employer’s Representative, and other stakeholders to resolve site issues
• Liaise with local authorities for inspections, revisions, and handover procedures in compliance with regulations.
• Conduct regular safety meetings with contractors to ensure safe construction practices according to international standards and local authority requirements
• Represent the consultant in technical, coordination, and progress meetings called by the Employer or Contractor
• Review contractor payment submissions and prepare recommendations for client approval
• Evaluate site staff performance regularly and report to DEC management in accordance with company policies

Experience

• Proven experience as a Resident Engineer on multi-storey building projects
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in post-tension systems
• Extensive experience managing multidisciplinary consultant teams (Architectural, Structural, MEP)
• Experience reviewing contractor submissions, technical documents, method statements, and site execution plans
• Familiarity with local authorities, safety standards, and regulatory compliance for construction projects
• Experience in contractor payment review, project coordination, and handover processes
