Resident Engineer

Our client, is one of the world’s leading consultancies, providing design, planning, engineering, sustainability consulting, digital solutions and services, and project management for buildings, cities, transportation, civil infrastructure, water and the environment.

We are looking for a Resident Engineer who will serve as the on-site representative of the client, providing full-time, independent construction supervision on building projects. The postholder is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction activities of the Contractor, ensuring works are executed in strict accordance with the Contract Documents, approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and applicable UAE regulations.

The role requires a highly experienced professional with a strong site supervision background in buildings, capable of administering FIDIC-based contracts and managing all technical, quality, and contractual aspects of the project on behalf of the Client.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (BSc / BEng / BArch) in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from a recognised and accredited university.
• Minimum 20 years of post-graduate professional experience, with the majority of experience in construction supervision of building projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, or institutional).
• Professional registration or chartered status is required (ICE, ASCE, IStructE, or equivalent internationally recognised professional body).
• Extensive and demonstrable experience as a Resident Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on large-scale building projects (construction value AED 100M or above, or equivalent).
• Thorough working knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions (Red Book preferred) and their practical application in construction administration.
• Proven experience with site quality management systems, including ITP implementation, NCR management, and submittal review and approval workflows.
• Sound understanding of UAE / Abu Dhabi construction regulations, building codes (ADBC), authority inspection requirements, and Health & Safety standards applicable to building construction.
• Strong command of written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.
• FIDIC Accredited Training or equivalent contract administration certification.
• Experience supervising high-rise or complex mixed-use developments in the UAE / GCC.
• Familiarity with Estidama Pearl Rating System or LEED construction-phase requirements.
• Knowledge of BIM-based construction supervision tools and use of digital site management platforms.
• First Aid / NEBOSH / IOSH certification or equivalent HSE qualification.

Pay: From AED36,000.00 per month
