Red Sea Sports & Entertainment (RSSE) is a dedicated subsidiary of Red Sea Global (RSG), responsible for designing and delivering outstanding land and marine experiences at The Red Sea destination. RSSE manages and operates a diverse portfolio of sports, adventure, and leisure offerings, including water sports through Galaxea, adventure activities via Akun, and leisure experiences delivered by WAMA.

RSSE plays a key strategic role in the partnership between Red Sea Global and the Saudi Olympic & Paralympic Committee, united by a shared ambition to promote inclusive, accessible, and world class sports and recreational experiences.

Job Purpose

The Resident Marine Biologist & Dive Instructor (RMBDI) is a site based role combining marine science expertise with professional dive instruction and guest engagement. The position has four primary objectives:

  • Engage and educate guests on marine life and conservation,
  • Lead exclusive marine biology-focused dive experiences,
  • Lead recreational (non marine biology) dives, and
  • Deliver dive training courses to international certification standards.

In addition, the RMBDI is responsible for coordinating and implementing Galaxea's Conservation Diving Program, embedding marine conservation principles into daily dive operations and guest experiences. The role supports the Dive Center Manager in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all dive activities within the asset.

The RMBDI oversees the delivery of day to day dive and underwater tourism activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, professionalism, guest experience, environmental responsibility, and commercial performance. This includes dive center presentation, guiding and instruction, marine interpretation, and supporting dive retail and sales operations.

Job Responsibilities General Operations & Guest Experience
  • Report directly to the Dive Center Manager and support the day to day operations of the dive center.
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences through professional dive guiding, instruction, and marine interpretation.
  • Educate guests and visiting divers on local marine ecosystems, biodiversity, and conservation initiatives.
  • Lead private and bespoke marine biology dive experiences for high end clientele.
  • Lead recreational dives in accordance with operational procedures and safety standards.
  • Teach dive courses to and above PADI standards, ensuring quality, safety, and consistency.
  • Actively support dive retail and sales activities, promoting courses, experiences, and equipment.
Conservation & Sustainability
  • Coordinate and implement Galaxea's Conservation Diving Program across the designated asset.
  • Integrate marine conservation messaging into dive briefings, debriefings, and guest interactions.
  • Work closely with Sustainability and RSZA teams to ensure alignment with sensitive and high profile environmental considerations.
  • Support marine conservation initiatives, citizen science activities, and environmental awareness programs.
  • Work alongside the Dive Center Manager during pre opening to support the development and launch of the dive center.
  • Collaborate with RSG departments during the delivery phase to ensure operational readiness and successful handover.
  • Become fully familiar with local dive sites, marine habitats, and species within the operating area.
Dive Center Operations - Post-Opening
  • Uphold and manage the highest standards of dive guiding and instruction, with safety as the top priority.
  • Ensure all dive activities and courses are conducted safely, professionally, and in full compliance with training agency standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records for courses, certifications, and dive activities.
  • Deliver engaging marine life presentations and educational talks for guests and colleagues.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with team members, management, and guests.
  • Adhere to all RSSE, Galaxea, and Red Sea Global policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
  • Ensure dive center operations remain controlled, compliant, and consistent.
Safety, Quality & Environment
  • Apply safety, quality, and environmental management systems to ensure guest and employee safety.
  • Promote a responsible and environmentally conscious approach to all marine and diving activities.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance dive operations, conservation programs, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with international best practices.

Job Requirements Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree or diploma in Marine Biology, Marine Conservation, or a related field.
  • Active and renewed PADI Instructor certification with a proven international track record.
  • Instructor rating in a minimum of five PADI specialties.
  • Minimum of 500 logged dives across various geographic locations.
  • Certification of at least 50 students across core PADI courses.
  • Strong background in dive center operations and commercial dive business.
  • Demonstrated experience in marine conservation and diving health & safety.
  • Equipment management and dive retail experience.
  • Valid Fit to Dive medical certification.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; confident public speaker.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a proactive, "can do" attitude.
  • Ability to deliver engaging, informative, and memorable dive experiences.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse cultures and high end clientele.
  • Exceptional safety awareness and leadership by example.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote dive resort environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic administrative tasks.
  • Strong interest in marine science, education, and conservation.
  • Full face mask diving experience.
  • Social media and content creation skills.
  • Underwater photography and videography.
  • Advanced marine species identification skills.
  • Equipment workshop technician experience across multiple brands.
