Residential Design Specialist, Home Remodeling & Renovations

We’re looking for a talented Residential Design Specialist to support a growing home remodeling and interior design team in Barberton, Ohio. This role focuses on developing customized design solutions for kitchen renovations, bathroom upgrades, and full residential remodeling projects.

The ideal candidate has a passion for residential aesthetics, functional space planning, and client-centered design consultation. In this position, you will work closely with homeowners, contractors, and project teams to transform ideas into detailed construction-ready plans that enhance both the beauty and functionality of residential living spaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop customized design concepts for kitchen, bathroom, and whole-home remodeling projects
• Meet with homeowners to understand project goals, design preferences, and functional requirements
• Create professional space layouts, finish selections, and design presentations for client approval
• Produce detailed construction drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and contractors to ensure designs are implemented accurately
• Guide clients through material selections, design revisions, and final approvals
• Maintain organized design documentation and project files across multiple residential projects
• Apply creative design solutions that balance aesthetics, practicality, and construction feasibility

Requirements

• 
  Experience working in residential interior design, remodeling, or renovation projects

• Advanced proficiency with Chief Architect design software (required)

• Strong knowledge of residential space planning, materials, finishes, and construction detailing

• Ability to manage multiple design assignments while maintaining quality standards

• Familiarity with design visualization tools, presentation software, and drafting workflows

• Excellent client communication and consultation skills

• Strong attention to detail with a refined sense of design aesthetics and layout functionality

• Experience collaborating directly with homeowners, contractors, or renovation teams
