Residential Interior Design Intern

Summer Internship – Design & Construction Assistant

Location: Houston Heights, TX | Part-Time | Temporary (Summer, ~15-20 hours/week)

Painted Lady Projects, a boutique design-build firm specializing in residential renovations, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented summer intern to support our team with administrative and project coordination tasks. This is a great opportunity for a college student interested in interior design, architecture, project management, or the residential construction industry.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with administrative duties such as data entry and organizing files
• Maintain sample library (including wallpaper, fabric, paints, and finish materials)
• Source and track samples for ongoing design projects
• Coordinate local pickups and deliveries to job sites or our office
• Prepare presentation materials (create mockups, paint sample boards, and assemble folders)
• Research products and source select items for design and contracting selections
• Perform errands and tasks as needed (shopping, managing returns, sending packages, pickups from showrooms, etc.)

Ideal Candidate:

• College student or recent graduate, preferably studying interior design, architecture, residential construction, or a related field
• While enthusiasm for design and construction is a must, prior experience is not required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Clear communication and a professional, proactive attitude
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive); Canva or Adobe Creative Suite a plus
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle required for local travel, site visits, and project-related errands
