Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Residential Landscape Designer to transform outdoor spaces into stunning, functional, and sustainable environments. Duties
- Develop comprehensive landscape design concepts using advanced software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Revit, and Civil 3D to create detailed plans and visualizations.
- Conduct site analysis utilizing GIS tools like ArcGIS and ArcView to assess topography, soil conditions, drainage patterns, and existing vegetation.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, planting plans, hardscape layouts, irrigation systems, and grading designs that adhere to sustainable practices.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into innovative landscape solutions that balance aesthetics with functionality.
- Coordinate with contractors during construction phases to ensure designs are accurately implemented while managing project timelines and budgets.
- Perform land surveying and site measurements to inform precise design development.
- Estimate construction costs and materials for landscaping projects while considering environmental sustainability and land stewardship principles.
Skills
- Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Adobe Creative Suite for drafting and visualization purposes.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture practices, plant selection, landscape maintenance techniques, and sustainable design principles.
- Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS or ArcView for spatial analysis and site planning.
- Familiarity with civil engineering concepts including land surveying, grading, drainage design, and civil 3D applications.
- Expertise in hardscape design elements like patios, retaining walls, pathways, fencing, and lighting systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously through effective project management skills; including construction estimating and scheduling.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and maintenance as well as landscaping best practices for residential properties.
