Purpose
The Resort Grounds Attendant ensures that our Resort and Campground remain fully operational and up to our guests standards. This position is responsible for rectifying all maintenance issues that come in, as well as landscaping, mowing, and cleaning of the property. This is a seasonal position that lasts through the middle of October.
Functions and Responsibilities

Open/Close, clean and maintain the resort pools

Clean fire pits and move picnic tables as needed

Pick up Trash at all trash kiosks, campsites, motel and store

Sort and take care of recycling

Make sure all rental camper black water tanks get emptied and grills get cleaned

Water and dead head all hanging flower baskets, whiskey barrels, and window boxes

Push mow and weed whack campsites and common areas throughout the park

Help housekeeping and store staff as needed with minor repairs

Help with site and surface damage after major storms or events

Deliver wood to campsites as requested by office

Help supervisor with various other tasks

Communicate with coworkers, management, owners

Follow all safety rules and regulations

Wear the proper PPE

Keeping a clean and sanitary work area

Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
-
Experience in, landscaping, and general grounds is preferred
-
Must be mechanically inclined
-
Must possess a courteous and friendly rapport with guests and co-workers.

Have interpersonal/communication skills orally and in written language.
Extent of Public Contact
The Resort Grounds Attendant will greet guests, graciously providing them assistance, and answer their questions in order that they might better enjoy their stay.
Physical Demands
This position requires frequent reaching, stretching, stooping and climbing up and down stairs. Much of the workday consists of standing and walking. Often this person will be required to lift boxes weighing up to 30 pounds, and occasionally may be required to lift up to 60 pounds.
Working Conditions and Environment
Daytime position which may include nights, weekends and/or holidays. Position is mostly outdoors.
Attendants may work in any of the following extreme weather situations:

Summer – Hot and Humid Conditions:

Attendants may work in hot and sunny weather, often with high humidity, especially in summer months

Rain and Stormy Weather

Attendants may have to work in light rain or deal with temporary bursts of inclement weather like thunderstorms or heavy rain.

Windy Conditions

In areas with frequent winds, Attendants may need to monitor weather conditions to ensure safety of guests and employees
Job Requirements

Must be 16 years of age or older

Must be able to exhibit all physical demands listed in this job description at any given time during shift

Mechanical work history is preferred
-
Must be flexible throughout season, with weekend availability

Must be able to work independently, with little daily supervision
