Respiratory Therapist

Role Summary

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for delivering comprehensive respiratory care services across ICU, Emergency, Wards, and OPD. The role includes ventilator management, airway care, diagnostic assessments, and providing continuous support to the medical team for optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities1. Patient Care & Therapy

• Administer oxygen therapy, nebulization, CPAP/BiPAP, and mechanical ventilation.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and assist with interpretation.
• Provide airway management, including suctioning, humidification, and extubation support.
• Monitor ventilator parameters and adjust settings as per medical direction.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and bedside respiratory assessments.

2. Clinical Support

• Assist doctors during intubation, bronchoscopy, and emergency airway procedures.
• Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapies provided.

3. Emergency & Critical Care Response

• Provide respiratory support during Code Blue and other critical events.
• Ensure emergency equipment and respiratory devices are always ready for use.

4. Patient & Caregiver Education

• Educate patients and families on inhaler techniques, respiratory devices, and home-care breathing exercises.

5. Equipment Management

• Oversee the maintenance of ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP machines, oxygen systems, and related devices.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and preventive maintenance logs.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• B.Sc in Respiratory Therapy (Mandatory)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting (ICU/ER preferred).
• Strong knowledge in ventilator management and ABG interpretation.
• Good communication, teamwork, and patient-handling skills.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts including nights.

Preferred Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
