Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect, operate, maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment (oxygen equipment, Cpap, ventilators, and high flow) and other life support systems.
  • Use invasive and noninvasive technology to assist with treatment of cardiopulmonary disorders.
  • Pt. Assessment /Administration of Medication via Nebulizer.
  • Follow weaning protocols as per MD orders.
  • Administer advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and provide mechanical ventilation for adults.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care required.
  • Experience preferred in Respiratory Care.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of all Respiratory Care equipment in terms of applications, limitations, troubleshooting, and alternative course of actions.
  • Must possess a broad scope of knowledge in cardiopulmonary and respiratory care treatment of disease.

Licensure:

  • Must possess a current valid NYS license or certificate as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Currently active and registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • BLS certification required.
