Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics and trauma centers. This role involves assessing patient needs, administering medications, and utilizing advanced ventilatory support techniques to ensure optimal respiratory function. The Respiratory Therapist will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care in both pediatric and adult populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status, including vital signs and overall health.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring proper dosages and techniques.
• Operate and maintain ventilatory equipment, providing support for patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals in the management of patients in Level I and Level II Trauma Centers.
• Provide specialized care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for pediatric patients with complex respiratory needs.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health, treatment plans, and medication administration.
• Document patient progress accurately in medical records to ensure continuity of care.

Skills

• Proficient in outpatient respiratory therapy practices.
• Strong knowledge of ventilatory support systems and techniques.
• Experience with medication administration related to respiratory treatments.
• Ability to monitor vital signs effectively and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with protocols in trauma centers, particularly Level I and Level II facilities.
• Expertise in pulmonology principles as they relate to patient care.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Pay: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
