Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT or RT Tech) | Casual | Nights

Work Schedule and Shift Premiums

• Night shift
• As a casual / per diem employee, hours vary based on the needs of the department
• 2nd shift premium is $2.00/hour; 3rd shift premium is $3.05/hour; weekend premium is an additional $2.00/hour

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy
• Has attained certification (CRT) or registry (RRT) in Respiratory Therapy and is licensed to provide respiratory care in the state of Michigan, or a Respiratory Technician working towards certification

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic testing which may include EKG’s, Holter Monitors, Event monitors, ABG’s, PFT’s, GXT’s and EEG’s
• Treats patients using oxygen or oxygen mixtures, aerosol medications and chest physiotherapy
• Administers medication to patients via NMT/MDI/DPI
• Performs pulmonary clearance procedures on patients utilizing PEP, Vest and CPT
• Charts response and progress of therapies administered in EMR. Appropriate documentation of education and Care Plan
• Educates patients on how to use equipment and medication
• Performs set up and monitoring of ventilator and BIPAP patients, including suctioning and airway maintenance
