Job Summary:
The Research Practice & Education Specialist demonstrates mastery of specific knowledge and practical skills required for clinical research studies conducted by Sarasota Memorial Health Care System. The position is accountable for the development and application of standards to enhance the training and quality of researchers, research projects, and research policies for the institution. A self-directed advanced practitioner with essential education, mentorship, consultant, researcher, and leadership components. The Research Practice & Education Specialist will develop, plan, and implement education that facilitates the professional growth, skill development, and initial/ongoing competence of research staff. They evaluate outcomes of interventions, with a focus on quality, safety, and staff development.
Required Qualifications:
- Require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, master's preferred.
Require five (5) years of clinical care experience within a healthcare setting with at least three (3) of those years in research.
- Require completion of the following certification training programs within thirty (30) days of hire: Good Clinical Practice, Human Subject Protection, and Safe Handling/Hazardous
- Require active State of Florida Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer research certification from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) or the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA), etc.
- Prefer working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- Prefer expertise in adult education and other related fields as appropriate.
