Restaurant Cook

We are looking for an experienced Asian Cook with expertise in preparing a wide variety of dishes, including rice and curry meals, flatbreads, noodle dishes, biryanis, and bakery items. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of ingredient handling, portion control, and cost management. Experience in UAE-based restaurants is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, including:
  • Rice & Curry Meals (Chicken Curry, Fish Curry, Dhal Curry)
  • Flatbreads (Paratha, Roti, Naan)
  • Noodle Dishes (Chicken Kottu, Fried Noodles, Chow Mein)
  • Biryanis & Rice Specialties (Chicken Biryani, Vegetable Biryani, Fried Rice)
  • Bakery Items (Tea Buns, Cream Buns, Fresh Rolls, Savory Pastries)
  • Develop and maintain cost-effective recipes while ensuring consistent quality and portion control.
  • Monitor ingredient usage, minimize waste, and maintain strict inventory control to optimize food costs.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of ingredients to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Follow standardized recipes while also contributing creative ideas for new dishes and baked goods.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory management, supplier coordination, and stock ordering for smooth operations.
  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, baking methods, food safety, and efficient kitchen practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cook in a restaurant, preferably within the UAE.
  • Strong expertise in preparing Asian curries, flatbreads, noodle dishes, biryanis, and bakery items.
  • Knowledge of ingredient costing, portion control, and inventory management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Culinary or bakery certification/formal training is a plus.
