The Hostess is the first and last impression of the restaurant experience. This role welcomes guests with warmth and professionalism, manages reservations and seating flow, and ensures each guest’s arrival and departure are seamless. The ideal candidate is poised, polished, and thrives in a refined yet relaxed atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; poised under pressure.
- Well-groomed, polished appearance appropriate for a refined dining environment.
- Knowledge of reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable, Resy, SevenRooms) is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced setting.
- Must be available for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Duties:
- Greet guests warmly and sincerely upon arrival, maintaining a gracious and inviting demeanor.
- Manage reservations through the restaurant’s booking system; coordinate with servers and management to optimize table flow and pacing.
- Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and provide brief information about the dining concept or specials when appropriate.
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs, including special requests and seating preferences.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stylish host stand and entrance area.
- Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth transitions during service.
- Handle phone inquiries regarding reservations, menus, dress recommendations, and hours of operation.
- Monitor waitlists during peak times and provide accurate wait estimates.
- Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return, ensuring a memorable final impression.
- Support service staff with light duties as needed (folding menus, refilling water, assisting with table resets).
Preferred:
- Graceful and confident presence; natural sense of hospitality.
- Bilingual or conversational French is a plus.
- Passion for fine food, wine, and guest experience.
- Team-oriented with a proactive and positive attitude.
