Sora Sushi is a Japanese Sushi Restaurant in Rancho Cordova that is open for lunch and dinner. We are currently seeking friendly and skilled Servers to join our team and provide our guests with an unforgettable dining experience.

Job Description:

As a Server at Sora, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the overall satisfaction of our guests. Your warm and attentive service, knowledge of our menu, and ability to anticipate our customers' needs will contribute to the success and reputation of our restaurant.

Responsibilities:

• Guest Interaction: Greet guests warmly, seat them at their tables, and provide menus. Offer recommendations, take food and drink orders, and ensure an enjoyable dining experience.
• Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and any specials or promotions. Be able to answer questions and accommodate special requests or dietary restrictions.
• Order Accuracy: Transmit orders accurately to the kitchen, double-checking for any modifications or special instructions. Verify the quality and presentation of dishes before serving them to guests.
• Timely Service: Ensure that food and beverages are served promptly and at the correct temperature. Monitor guests' needs throughout their meal and provide refills and additional items as requested.
• Upselling: Suggest appetizers, desserts, and beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Be knowledgeable about wine and beverage pairings.
• Payment Processing: Present bills to guests, process payments accurately, and return change promptly. Handle cash and card transactions following restaurant procedures.
• Table Maintenance: Clear and reset tables efficiently, ensuring a clean and organized dining area. Assist with bussing and cleaning as needed during busy periods.
• Compliance: Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards. Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines and verify the legal drinking age when necessary.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth and coordinated service. Communicate effectively with coworkers and management.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
• Flexibility in working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of food and beverage items, including wine and cocktail selections.
