Retail Ecommerce Manager – Job DescriptionPosition Overview
The Retail Ecommerce Manager is responsible for leading and executing the company’s online retail strategy to drive revenue growth, enhance customer experience, and optimize digital sales channels. This role oversees ecommerce operations, digital merchandising, performance marketing coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless online and offline integration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ecommerce Strategy & Growth
- Develop and implement a comprehensive ecommerce strategy aligned with business objectives
- Drive online sales growth, conversion rates, and average order value (AOV)
- Identify new digital revenue opportunities, marketplaces, and partnerships
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities
2. Website & Platform Management
- Manage ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce)
- Oversee product listings, content updates, pricing, and promotions
- Ensure optimal site performance, UX/UI improvements, and mobile responsiveness
- Coordinate with developers for site enhancements and integrations
3. Digital Marketing & Performance
- Collaborate with marketing teams to manage paid media, SEO, email marketing, and social commerce
- Track and optimize campaigns across platforms like Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram)
- Analyze KPIs including traffic, CTR, conversion rate, CAC, ROAS, and retention
4. Analytics & Reporting
- Utilize tools such as Google Analytics and Tableau to monitor performance
- Generate weekly and monthly performance reports
- Provide actionable insights to improve user journey and sales funnel
5. Inventory & Operations
- Align ecommerce inventory with retail stock levels
- Coordinate with supply chain and fulfillment teams to ensure timely deliveries
- Manage order processing, returns, refunds, and customer service standards
- Improve logistics efficiency and reduce cart abandonment
6. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor ecommerce and digital teams
- Work closely with IT, merchandising, finance, and customer service departments
- Manage external vendors, agencies, and technology partners
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Ecommerce, or related field
- 3–7+ years of ecommerce or digital retail experience
- Strong knowledge of ecommerce platforms and digital marketing channels
- Proficiency in data analytics and performance tracking
- Excellent project management and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with omnichannel retail strategy
- Knowledge of CRM and marketing automation tools
- Familiarity with UX/UI best practices
- Experience managing online marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, Walmart Marketplace)
