Retail Lighting Sales Manager

Position Summary

The Retail Sales Lighting Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, managing retail accounts, and expanding GT-Lite’s presence in the lighting category. This role involves leading customer relationships, executing sales strategies, coordinating product launches, and ensuring profitability for GT brand as well as private label sales

Key Responsibilities

Account Management & Sales Growth

  • Manage and grow retail accounts (Menards, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Target, Costco etc.).
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve revenue and margin goals in the retail lighting category.
  • Negotiate pricing, promotions, displays, and terms with buyers and merchants.
  • Monitor competitive activity and adjust strategies to maintain GT-Lite’s price-point advantage.

Business Development

  • Identify new retail channels and partnership opportunities (big box, club stores, discount retailers, regional chains).
  • Work with marketing and product teams to position GT-Lite products for maximum shelf presence and sell-through.
  • Drive promotional and seasonal programs to increase retail sales volume.

Merchandising & Category Management

  • Collaborate with retailers on planograms, displays, and marketing initiatives.
  • Provide insights into customer buying behavior and recommend product assortments.
  • Ensure GT-Lite products are well represented both in-store and online (retailer.com).

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with the product development team to align new lighting solutions with retail needs.
  • Work with operations and logistics to ensure on-time delivery and inventory management.
  • Coordinate with marketing for packaging, branding, and promotional materials.

Performance & Reporting

  • Track sales performance and provide detailed reporting on account growth, pricing, and market trends.
  • Forecast sales and manage budgets for retail accounts.
  • Present updates to executive leadership on progress toward revenue and margin targets.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of retail sales experience in lighting, electrical, or home improvement categories.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales growth in retail environments.
  • Familiarity with retail programs such as product line reviews, planograms and promotional calendars.
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically for buyer meetings, trade shows, and store visits.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Base Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
