Rigger

Job Description

A Rigger is responsible for lifting, moving, and positioning heavy equipment, materials, and structural components at MEP and construction sites using cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment. The role ensures that all lifting operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and according to approved plans and safety regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble, and inspect rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, chains, ropes, and lifting gear.
• Attach and secure loads for lifting using cranes, hoists, and other lifting machinery.
• Read and interpret lifting plans, drawings, and instructions provided by engineers or supervisors.
• Assist crane operators during lifting, positioning, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
• Ensure proper load balancing, stability, and secure rigging to prevent accidents.
• Inspect rigging equipment regularly and report any defects or damages to the supervisor.
• Follow all HSE guidelines, including wearing PPE and ensuring site safety during lifting operations.
• Coordinate with site engineers, crane operators, and other trades for smooth execution of lifting tasks.
• Support the team in erection, dismantling, and relocation of materials and equipment as needed.
