Job Description

A Rigger Level 3 is responsible for complex rigging, supervising lifting operations, and creating lift plans for heavy and high-risk lifts. Responsibilities include performing advanced load calculations, inspecting and maintaining rigging equipment, managing hazards, and providing directions to crane operators. They are expected to demonstrate leadership and ensure all lifting activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Core responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise:
Guide and oversee rigging teams to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
  • Perform complex rigging:
Handle and perform complex rigging tasks, including those involving heavy loads, uneven loads, and tandem lifts.
  • Create lift plans:
Develop and approve detailed lift plans for complex and high-risk lifts, considering equipment capabilities, load dynamics, and environmental factors.
  • Conduct advanced calculations:
Perform advanced calculations for load dynamics, including asymmetrical and dynamic forces.
  • Manage risk and hazards:
Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate hazards associated with rigging operations.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment:
Carry out pre-use inspections of all lifting equipment and accessories and ensure their maintenance and certification are current.
  • Provide signals and direction:
Communicate effectively with crane operators and other personnel using proper signal operation
