Risk and Governance Officer

We are looking to hire a Risk & Governance Specialist who will be responsible for supporting risk assessment, corporate governance, and reporting for our client based in Dubai, UAE – one of the largest organizations in the region.

This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 6 months and may be open to renewal depending upon performance.

The role sits within the Business Excellence & IT Department and reports directly to the Head of Business Excellence .

We are looking for a passionate Risk & Governance Specialist to support in risk identification, governance framework development, and management reporting. You should also have experience in corporate governance, risk management frameworks, and regulatory alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identify gaps and potential risks, and recommend best practices for mitigation.
• Maintain and update a master risk register for the Authority.
• Draft a corporate governance framework aligned with applicable regulations.
• Prepare periodic progress reports for management review.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure risk management and governance practices are integrated across the organization.
• Provide subject matter expertise in governance and compliance initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in risk management, governance, and compliance within the UAE.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle sensitive/confidential information.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, or related field (Master’s or certifications like ISO, COSO, CIA, CRMA preferred).

Availability:

• UAE experience is a must.
• Preference will be given to candidates who can join immediately .
