Risk Management Assistant

Summary/Objective

Report information to the Worker’s Compensation Carrier, provide Certificates of Insurance and loss runs to existing and former clients, and support the underwriting, environmental health & safety, and claims functions within DecisionHR. Manage client terminations and send out letters and notifications to clients. Update the insurance carrier database with new and/or terminated clients. In addition, create weekly termination reports, coordinate and administer the yearly OSHA 300 & 300A logs, and the yearly renewal of new client packets.

Essential Functions

  • Accident Reports – The person is to document information only on accidents and process the First Report to the insurance company electronically.
  • Client Education –Keep clients stocked with all necessary updated Risk Management forms and posters. Answer any questions that clients may have regarding their policies.
  • Adding/ Terminating Worker’s Compensation Coverage – Individuals will add new clients and terminate clients as requested. This person will also send letters and notifications to clients of such actions. Weekly meetings will be held with payroll, accounting, and the Director of Risk Management to discuss client terminations.
  • Certificates of Insurance – Individuals will provide Certificates of Insurance to certificate holders and interested parties. Upon terminating a client, a canceled Certificate of Insurance will be issued to all existing certificate holders of that client.
  • Loss Run and Monthly Reporting – A Loss Run Report will be provided to current and former clients upon request. Individuals will verify accuracy and update monthly reports.
  • May collaborate with the Director of EH&S to ensure the scheduling and follow-up of 3rd party loss control vendors (Alexander & Schmidt, G & W Inspections, RSH Services, etc.) for remote client EH&S visits in accordance with DecisionHR procedures.
  • Additional responsibilities include: termination report, administration and coordination of yearly OSHA logs, yearly renewal, preparation of new client packets, and occasional support of pre-underwriting information gathering.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Analytical abilities, accuracy, and confidentiality in the various reporting activities and communicating with various individuals and organizations
  • Experience in the insurance industry.
  • High School diploma/ GED is required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • BA/BS is preferred.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
